My First Day at NILE

What things have you covered in today’s sessions?

We have met Russell Stannard the tutor and the other students. We have looked at the general outline and the objectives of the course.

What technologies have you been exposed to?

We have made a short intoduction on how to use Blogger, TodaysMeet, and Googleslides. 
TodaysMeet is a platform where both teachers and students can participate in a live chat. This tool allows anyone to join any chat room via a URL.You don't need to have an account to join in a room. The only skill you need to have is typing.

Googleslides, on the other hand, enables learners to work on the same presentation simultaneously from their homes. There is also a chat bar where people can communicate with each other. Thanks to chat bar, people can make sure that they are working on the correct page properly. Below you can find some useful videos on how to use Blogger and Googleslides prepared by our tutor Russell Stannard

How might you use the technologies/techniques in your own teaching and learning?

My students can use Googleslides to share their ideas,comments on a collaborative task. My students can also benefit from these applications outside the classroom.

What value would these techniques/technologies add to your teaching and learning?

These techniques and technologies might enhance the collaboration among my students as well as improving their computer skills.

What challenges do you foresee?

Some of my students might not have laptops or computers at home or dormitory. They might have trouble in using these applications unless they are well-trained.
